Superduo Bracelets

Superduo Bracelets

Handmade Bracelets Off-Loom Bead Weavingby Laurie Schmidt

I am fortunate to work in a creative environment; it’s a quilt/bead store. Over the last year or so, we started to carry superduo beads and I’ve become somewhat obsessed with these. I love making jewelry with Superduo beads, especially bracelets. This project adds leather cord, thread and a button. The technique is off-loom bead weaving to make Superduo Bracelets.

I often find inspiration on Pinterest, try to figure out how to make it, and then add my own twist. This is one of my favorite Superduo bracelets, basic gold and white.

Here is another with copper and gold beads.

And, can’t stop at only a few . . . here is one in Seahawks colors!

And even more color combinations! They get addicting to make, just to see how they will turn out! The bracelets can be made any width.

What are Superduo beads?

Superduo beads, used in the bracelets above, are two holed tubular seed glass seed beads. They are pressed glass so each one is an exact size. They measure 2.5x5m wide with two ,8mm holes each. Their unique oval shape makes them interesting to work with and incorporate into handmade jewelry pieces.
