A little or a lot – beads can add a little spark or be the main event from art quilts to clothing to jewelry! Bead embroidery uses needle and thread to attach beads to a textile surface. It is an embellishment that does not add to the function of the piece — it’s main purpose is decoration.

There are a variety of techniques to add beads and bling to your textiles, from laying down a line of beads and couching them, which is good for straight lines of beads, or using a back stitch to help keep them close around curves
