Make your Thanksgiving Kids Table – Just for Fun! Create a kid-centric space that welcomes your young guests with activities and decorations just for them. Gather crayons, felt and chenille stems (we used to call them pipe cleaners). Then transform them into interactive decorations, napkin rings, finger puppets and more.
Rock your kids table with these projects from creative bloggers – googly eyes optional!
Your young guests can express gratitude in words and pictures with this Thankful Table activity from Art Bar. Cover the table with kraft paper. Then gather crayons and markers to get the artists drawing the people, places and things they are happy to have in their lives. Plain white circle stickers provide focus when just a word will do.

With just a little advance planning, Crayon Turkeys can be at the ready for artful endeavors at the kids table. Paging Supermom guides you through drilling just-right holes to hold crayon tail feathers when the young artists are not actively drawing. She even provides a free printable for the gobbler face!
If you want a non-turkey themed table decoration for the kids, make Pilgrim Hat Crayon Cups by Crafting Chicks. These are a cute way to corral crayons or markers at the kids table, and they are super-easy and fast to make with paper cups and dessert plates that you can probably find at the dollar store.
Make this crayon holder with craft felt and googly eyes. Pattern is included for the Felt Turkey Crayon Holder by Skip to My Lou. Download and print the template, then follow simple sewing instructions. All straight stitches – nothing fancy! Use glue to attach the body and face components and add colorful crayons.
A Turkey Place Holder for each kid at the table simplifies seating at feast time. Keeping It Simple cut pieces of 2 x 2 wood into 3 1/2-inch lengths and spray painted them brown. The tail feathers? Popsicle sticks covered in washi tape to spell out the name. How easy is that? Just add a face and those little turkey feet!
Got time for a ten-minute project? Felt and Ribbon Turkey Napkin Rings go together quickly, and you may already have the supplies at home. Rae Gun Ramblings has instructions to make this gorgeous gobbler into hair clips, too! This is a great project for those leftover bits of ribbon that are too small for most projects but too big to throw away. And, once again, googly eyes!
Another quick and easy project, Turkey Juice Box Holders from Fun Squared take just minutes to put together. Brown construction paper wraps around a juice box to form the turkey’s body. Then colorful feathers form the tail. You could cut bright paper to make “feathers” if you don’t have real ones. Add a triangle beak and – ta-dah! – googly eyes to complete each turkey.
Keep the play going long after dinner with Thanksgiving Turkey Finger Puppets. The stitching is easy for all but the youngest dinner guests. Frog Prince Paperie uses craft felt and embroidery thread – even for the eyes. Stitching holds all the pieces together more securely than glue. But you could use googly eyes if you insist!
