I like to look pretty and love my spring flower dog collar. This is a quick and easy way to make a custom dog collar for the furry friend in your life. Whether you are celebrating spring, or if your furry friend is participating in your wedding, or even sporting your teams colors, making a custom dog collar is an easy sewing project.
To make this spring flower dog collar, you’ll need:
- 4″ piece of fabric that is 3″ longer than the dogs neck diameter
- 1 piece of velcro (both sticky and fuzzy sides) about 1″ long
- Miscellaneous flowers to sew on the collar
- Needle and thread
Start with a piece of fabric that is about 3″ longer than your neck diameter and about 4″ wide. Sew the fabric wrong sides together in half. Then turn it inside out. Turn in the edges on the ends, then top stitch.

Sew velcro on the ends as in the photo. Make sure there is no twist in the piece of fabric.
Gather up your flowers – I just bought ones I liked at the dollar store. This isn’t the time to spend money on expensive fake flowers! Take the flowers apart, so that you only have the flower. I used my wire cutters to cut right at the base of the flower.
Lay the fabric collar out on a table flat. Arrange your flowers in the order you’d like and either sew or glue gun the flowers to the strip of finished fabric.
And, here I am sporting my new Spring Dog Collar! I got comments on my walks with my master about how cute and and adorable I am! Of course!
I wear my Spring Dog Collar proudly!
And, with a smile!
