Retro inspired sparkly pumpkin ornament, is a fall addition to my year round tree. Lots of great sequins and beads make it sparkle in the lights!
I do suggest using a thimble, if you work on this for a longer time period, as your fingers can get a little tender pushing the pins into the styrofoam ball.
Start with some sequins, beads, small sequin pins, a piece of ribbon about 6″ long and a styrofoam ball.

I like to start by pinning the ribbon in the ball, then you can cover the ends with sequins. If you put the ribbon like this, then the sequins and beads cover the ends, and the strain from hanging the ornament is on different places on the ball.
Start by putting a small bead on a pin, add a sequin and begin to fill up the styrofoam ball! I like to start at the top, and begin working around the ornament until it is all full, working to overlap the sequins just a little bit so the styrofoam ball doesn’t show through in any gaps.
The finished pumpkin ornament, to add some fall to my year round inside tree! I put it up before Halloween, and this one can stay up until after Thanksgiving!
