Peyote Bezeled Statement Stone Pendant
This 40mm X 30mm teardrop-shaped stone cried out to be dressed up yet insisted on remaining the center of attention. Inspired by the blues and greens in the gemstone, Peyote Bezeled Statement Stone Pendant secured the stone. Embellishing is always such fun – once the bead is secure in a bezel, you can play and play some more with options for making a unique piece. I used a lot of blues in the bezel, so I brought out the greens of the stone with small green drop beads. As they surround the stone, they hint at fringe without compromising the stone’s shape. Peyote stitch makes a sturdy bail, so I stitched rows to make sure the bail would go around the chain.
Spiral stitch makes a beaded chain with interesting texture. I always have to review instructions, however. No matter how often I bead with spiral stitch, the beginning just never looks right to me, even though it is. I just need to be patient and keep stitching! The clasp carries out the blue and green color scheme with a Peyote stitched tube beaded toggle. It’s easy to fasten with a beaded loop.
This piece saw some heavy bidding action in a silent auction.
