I have made many, many, many of these project bags. The clear vinyl lets you see at a glance which project you’re grabbing, and the zipper keeps everything secure. This bag reflects a patriotic theme, even down to the flag charm zipper pull! Here is my Patriotic Project Bag!
Here is a “presidential” view with a peek-a-boo president.
What I love about these bags: so many things! This size finishes at about 14 by 14 inches, so I can transport blocks in process up to traditional 12-inch blocks. My friends who hand appliqué love that they can pin or glue appliqué pieces in place and store them safely to stitch later. Great for taking along on trips or to meetings and retreats. As a fan of machine appliqué (actually, any machine technique), I find this an easy way to take blocks to class.

For notions, I like to use a smaller bag. The vinyl front lets me see exactly what is in front of me without digging. And maybe poking myself with pins and needles! They are great for organizing what you need for a specific project so you can keep it all together – ha! Carry just the needles, threads, special tools, etc. that you need and keep them with the project so you can just grab and go!
In your sewing room, you can sort your notions – have a bag for machine needles, another for scissors, etc.
