Sometimes the Christmas ornaments one finds are just, you know…eh. Pull out your embellishments and go to town, and make a New Money Fabulous ornament!
I started with a little stuffed dog in a hat and coat. Then I made her fabulous! Seed beads, single earrings, hot glue, bits of broken jewelry, and sequin trim can just make a simple ornament over the top.
The embellishment possibilities are endless! A good place to start – check your jewelry box for those single and broken bits that you forgot about long ago. Hard to use on their own, they become fabulous when added to a fun project that you will enjoy every year! Attach non-sewable components with hot glue or craft glue. You can glue sewable components, too, (like I did) or tack them on with simple stitches. Stitching might be sturdier.

At a grown-up ornament-making party, you can bling these until they are over the top with crystals, cute outfits or outlandish accessories. But think of the possibilities for a kid-friendly ornament party! As long as you select materials that are friendly for small fingers, the kids will have a ball!
And after! Now she is decked out like she has New Money!
