We all decorate our inside spaces, but what about your patio or porch? Here my porch is decorated for July 4th – my Independence Day Patio. The painting my daughter made, lives there all year. For Independence Day, I added a bouquet of flags in an old metal watering can.
To make a similar painting, get a large canvas from your hobby store and some craft paints. For the blue background wash, mix blue paint with water and apply as a variegated background. After that dries, add the bare branches. Later add a bird or butterfly for some color.
Find a weather proof container to use as a vase. Add some rocks so it will not blow over and finish with a group of American flags. I have collected them over time, but you can find inexpensive flags at your local party store. Use this as a centerpiece on your patio table, or place on your outdoor console table. Most of all, have fun!
